LA Times union president Pesce leaving for The Washington Post

Anthony Pesce will be joining The Washington Post as a senior engineer on The Post’s engineering team which is dedicated to supporting its politics coverage.

In his new role, Pesce Pesce will develop and analyze The Post’s election data visualizations, optimizing them across devices to ensure readers are getting the best possible experience.

Later on, he will also work on visual projects at the intersection of engineering and The Post’s newsroom.

His new role begins June 1.

“Anthony is an extremely talented engineer with an exceptional eye for design—a powerful combination that will benefit our team as we look to help readers make sense of the state-level races and presidential election,” said Director of Engineering Jeremy Bowers. “He bolsters our capability and capacity to create dynamic, live graphics and visuals that will support the work of our politics staff as they bring readers comprehensive coverage of another historic election year.”

Pesce joins The Post from The Los Angeles Times where he held the post of data and graphics reporter. He also held the post of Guild president at the publication.

Pesce’s work has also been recognized by the Society for News Design and the Society for Features Journalism.
