The Los Angeles Times has tapped Laura Blasey to serve as assistant editor for newsletters. Recently, Blasey held the post of multi-platform editor for newsletters.
Blasey joined the Times in 2019 as a newsletters editor. She launched several newsletters, including California Politics and Group Therapy. She has also been the final check on the Times’ biggest newsletters, Essential California and Today’s Headlines, before they are sent to inboxes each morning.
She is also the lead editor for Essential California.
Previously, Blasey was at Newsday, where she started as an intern and then held the posts of writer, producer and voice of Newsday’s Daily Briefing, and reporter.
Blasey has a B.A. in journalism from the University of Maryland.
