Rebecca Plevin has joined the Los Angeles Times as a reporter for equity initiative. As per the Times:
“In her new role at The Times, Plevin will explore the challenges facing low-income communities and efforts being made to address the economic divide in California, with a particular focus on Southern California and the Central Valley.”
Recently, Plevin was a project editor at The Fresno Bee for the Central Valley News Collaborative, which also includes Vida en el Valle, Valley Public Radio and Radio Bilingüe. She was also an immigration reporter at The Desert Sun, part of the Gannett | USA Today Network.
Her resume also includes stints as a health reporter at the Southern California News Group and a reporter at Valley Public Radio, Central California’s NPR affiliate. She also reported for The Observer Newspapers, Roll Call, Sports Illustrated and South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Plevin has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
