Mike Gaytán is moving to Los Angeles. He has been named VP of News for KVEA Telemundo 52.
He’ll step into the role left vacant by Rubén Keoseyan, who took a company buyout in December 2022.
He starts the new job June 5 and will report to Todd Mokhtari, President and GM of Telemundo 52 and NBC4.
Gaytán arrives at the L.A. station from San Diego, where he has been VP of News for KUAN Telemundo 20 since December 2021. He previously spent 5 years at Telemundo Arizona, where he led the station’s newsroom as VP of News.
Before that, the Laredo-raised Gaytán worked at Univision Texas stations for two decades, working his way up the management ranks, landing news director roles at KWEX Univision 41 San Antonio and KAKW Univision 61 Austin, before making his move to Phoenix.
Gaytán launched his career in local news at Entravision’s KLDO-TV in Laredo, Texas where he served as News Director for four years before joining Univision News Group in 2005.
