Akira Kyles has joined The Fayetteville Observer as reporter covering issues in the community, including schools, scholarship awards and issues related to the pandemic.
Kyles was previously working as a community news journalist at Carroll County Times. She has also worked at The AFRO–American Newspapers as an intern and freelancer. She was also a PJI fellow at Politico.
Additionally, she has also served as an editorial intern at Baltimore City Paper.
Kyles holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and multimedia journalism from Morgan State University.
