King to join Mother Jones as editorial director

Jamilah King

Jamilah King will join Mother Jones as an editorial director on Oct. 16. Previously, she worked at Mother Jones from August 2017 to March 2022, holding the posts of race and justice reporter and host of the Mother Jones weekly national politics podcast.

Recently, King was at BuzzFeed, where she joined as deputy inequality reporter, and then served as managing editor.

She was also a senior staff writer at Mic.

King has a B.A. from Pitzer College in California.
