Nonprofit newsroom The Wisconsin Watch has hired Jack Kelly as a statehouse reporter. Recently, he was a Wisconsin politics reporter at The Capital Times in Madison, Wisc.
Previously, Kelly contributed to the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism and was the founder and editor of the politics newsletter Inside Wisconsin Politics.
He was a fellow at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and interned at McClatchy and Healthline Media.
Kelly was named the Wisconsin Newspaper Association’s 2022 Rookie Reporter of the Year and has earned various other awards from the WNA and the Milwaukee Press Club.
Kelly has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree from Northwestern University.
