Kansas City Star veteran journalist Mara Rose Williams has been appointed assistant managing editor for race and equity issues. Recently, she served as a news reporter.
Williams joined the Star in 1998. Since then she has held various posts, including editorial writer and news reporter. Prior to joining the Star, she served as a reporter for more than seven years at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Previosly, she reported for Newsday.
Williams has a B.A. from Ohio University.
