Johnson joins Washington Post’s local enterprise team

Lizzie Johnson will be joining The Washington Post’s local enterprise team.

Her new role starts in July.

Johnson joins from the San Francisco Chronicle where she is an enterprise writer. She has been with the Chronicle for 6 years and has also worked as a narrative writer and city hall reporter. She was also a metro intern at Chicago Tribune Media Group.

She was also a resource library assistant at Investigative Reporters and Editors, and a journalism ambassador at the University of Missouri. She was also a features intern at The Dallas Morning News and a multimedia reporter at El Sol de San Telmo.

She has also served as a breaking news intern at Omaha World-Herald and as a copy chief at The Maneater. She was also a higher education reporter at the Columbia Missourian.

Johnson s a two-time Livingston Award finalist and just won the Best of the West long-form feature writing award.

Also, her book, “Paradise”, about the deadly 2018 Camp fire that devastated a California town, is being published by Crown in August.

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in international print journalism and political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
