Mendenhall joined the newspaper in April 2019 as a staff writer. Previously, he served three Iowa papers: as editor-in-chief of Shaw Media’s Newton Daily News, and as news editor for Shaw’s Jasper County Tribune and Prairie City News.
He interned at Gannett.
Mendenhall has a B.A. in journalism and mass communications from the University of Iowa, where he reported for the student newspaper The Daily Iowan.
