The following was sent out from The Washington Post‘s curation desk editor Kenisha Malcolm, night home page editor Kimberly Walker and deputy curation desk editor Emily Tsao:

Kaylah Jackson

We are pleased to announce that Kaylah Jackson is joining the Curation Desk as an overnight editor.

In this key role for our 24-hour newsroom, Kaylah will curate our digital surfaces in ways that inform, enlighten and engage users through powerful presentations and layouts that create maximum impact on the homepage and app. In coordination with our Washington and San Francisco newsrooms and global hubs in Seoul and London, she will look to grow and engage our national and international homepage audience. She will also monitor breaking news and craft and send email and push notifications.

Before starting at The Post, Kaylah reported on issues concerning female and minority U.S. military veterans at CBS Radio. More recently, she worked as the associate editor of optimization at Vox, offering trends and traffic insights to the newsroom to strengthen audience growth.

Kaylah is from Los Angeles County and will be based in California. She received a bachelor’s in English from Florida State University and a master’s in journalism from Northwestern. Kaylah enjoys long-distance running and reading fiction and is trying to teach herself how to play piano.

Kaylah starts today. Please join us in welcoming her to The Post.
