Investigative Journalism Bureau makes four new hires

Danielle Orr, Naama Weingarten, Raneem Alozzi and Inori Roy have joined the Investigative Journalism Bureau as interns/reporters.

Previously, Orr was a freelance journalist contributing to Neuropresse, Nurau, the Sheridan Sun, The Modern Post, Case Cold, Fair Play, and terrypacks.com. She was also a podcast host and producer at Sheridanlife Radio. Orr is a graduate of the University of Toronto – University of Trinity College.

Weingarten joins from CJRU 1280AM, where she recently held the post of morning news coordinator. Before that, she was a news volunteer. She has also served as a politics talk host at Radio Regent and was a content creator at R.E. Royal Trading Inc.

Weingarten is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ryerson University.

Alozzi comes from the Toronto Star where she was a staff reporter. She has also worked as a news editor, media editor, and writer and reporter at The Eyeopener. Alozzi holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ryerson University.

Roy previously worked as a freelance journalist. She was also a researcher at Greenpeace Canada and has served as a journalism fellow at The Local Magazine. She was also a global leadership instructor at Canadian International Student Services.

She was also a staff reporter at the Toronto Star and a coordinating editor at The McGill Daily, the student newspaper at McGill University. She was also a researcher and web reporter at CBC.

Roy is a B.A. in sociology and communications from McGill University and a M.A. in investigative journalism from City, University of London.
