IndyStar taps Herron to cover higher education

Arika Herron

Arika Herron, an education reporter covering state education trends and policy and Marion County schools for the Indianapolis Star, will report on higher education across the state from next month.

Prior to joining the Star, Herron was an education reporter at the Winston-Salem Journal in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was also a staff writer covering business and nonprofits in Hancock County for the Greenfield Daily Reporter in Greenfield, Ind.

Heron served as a research intern at the National Geographic Society. She has a B.A. in journalism from Butler University in Indianapolis.
