Danielle McLean, a senior editor at Smart Cities Dive, has left. Her tweet reads:
“I’ll be jumping into the world of freelance reporting full-time, chasing my dream of writing a fiction novel (publishers, reach out), and traveling overseas.”
McLean worked at the Society of Professional Journalists. She freelanced for the Washington Post’s The Lily, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Hechinger Report and Higher Ed Drive.
She was a staff reporter at The Chronicle of Higher Education and an investigative reporter at ThinkProgress.
She was a news correspondent at the Boston Globe.
McLean has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Hofstra University.
