Senior Journalist Jamila Husain has been appointed as the new Editor in Chief of Daily Mirror from today (June 1).
Jamila began her journey in Daily Mirror in 2007 and left in 2010 to take up a role as a foreign media correspondent. She rejoined the newspaper in 2020 and functioned as the Associate Editor.
Jamila started her overall career in journalism in 2003 from the Sunday Leader and has since bagged one international award and three local awards for her coverage of the war against terror and issues affecting low-income communities.
She is presently a political writer.
With her new appointment, Jamila is presently the youngest Editor In Chief of a leading daily national newspaper.
