For the past five years, Jazmine Hughes has been an innovative editor at The New York Times Magazine, helping to launch Mag Labs.
Now, she will be taking on a new role where she’ll be writing full time, both for the Magazine and for Metro.
Previously, Hughes was contributing editor at The Hairpin. She was also with New York Magazine for more than 2 years, joining as a fact checker and then holding the post of online producer.
She was also news editor and then editor-in-chief/publisher at The College Voice and served as editorial intern at both New Haven Register and New York Magazine, respectively.
Hughes has a Bachelor’s degree in government and creative writing from Connecticut College. She also holds a certificate in publishing from Columbia University – Graduate School of Journalism.
