Hoyt joins Advance Local Media as Dallas Cowboys beat reporter

Joseph Hoyt

Joseph Hoyt will join Advance Local Media’s new outlet Lone Star Live as Dallas Cowboys beat reporter. He wrote on X/Twitter:

“I’ve covered high school sports, colleges & more in Dallas. It’s a dream come true to take the next step here.”

Since November 2018, Hoyt has been at The Dallas Morning News, recently serving as college sports/Texas Rangers beat reporter. Before that, he held the post of sports reporter. He also worked as a digital content producer and high school sports reporter at CBS station KOIN-TV Ch. 6 in Portland, Ore.

Previously, he worked as an Iowa State football beat reporter at the Iowa-based Ames Tribune.

He freelanced for Oregon-based daily newspaper The Register-Guard and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Hoyt has a B.S. in journalism from the University of Oregon.
