Axios has hired Kristen Hinman as Mid-Atlantic bureau chief for Axios Local. She will be the first Axios Local bureau chief as the company continues expansion to cities across the U.S.
Hinman joins from The Washingtonian Magazine where she has been working for over 8 years as an articles editor. Before that, she was an associate editor, politics and policy, at Bloomberg Businessweek.
She has also worked freelance and was a staff writer at Riverfront Times in St. Louis, Missouri.
Hinman has also won awards from the James Beard Foundation and City & Regional Magazine Association.
Hinman has a M.S. in magazine journalism from Columbia University – Graduate School of Journalism.
