Americans too often have this issue with concentrating on the negative, and Thanksgiving is an opportunity to focus on what’s been given to us — not by hard work or heroic effort, but through the generosity of others and the grace of God. At a time of year when people talk about keeping the holiday spirit going all year round, I’d submit that we start with Thanksgiving.
