Hancock to join BBC News as live journalist

Sam Hancock

BBC News has hired Sam Hancock as a live journalist on the digital team. Recently, he has been working freelance for The Independent, covering politics, crime, coronavirus, the climate crisis and more. His bylines have also appeared in Vice, i, Time Out and more.

He was also an intern at The Times and The i Paper and has reported for Eastlondonlines in the UK.

Hancock has a B.A. from the University of Manchester and a M.A. from Goldsmiths, University of London.
