Guardian News & Media has appointed Philip Oltermann culture editor from his posts of Germany correspondent and Berlin bureau chief.
Since joining in June 2009, Oltermann has held the posts of special supplements editor, deputy editor and deputy editor for Opinion.
Oltermann has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford and a master’s degree from University College London. He also has a PhD. from Queen Mary University of London.
