Greenblatt named exec editor of Howard Center for Investigative Journalism

Mark Greenblatt

Mark Greenblatt has been appointed executive editor of the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism, based at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In his new role, he succeeds Maud Beelman.

For the past 10 years, Greenblatt has worked for Scripps News in Washington, recently serving as senior national investigative correspondent and coordinator for specialized reporting. Before that, he held the posts of national investigative correspondent and senior national investigative correspondent.

He was also a national correspondent at ABC News, and served as an investigative reporter at various stations. These include KHOU-TV Ch. 11, a CBS affiliate in Houston; WBBH-TV Ch. 20, an NBC station in Fort Myers, Fla., NBC outlet KOAA-TV Ch. 5 in Pueblo, Colo.; and KOMU-TV Ch. 8, an NBC-and CW Plus affiliate in Columbia, Mo.

He has won three Peabody awards, the duPont-Columbia Award, the IRE Medal, the Livingston Award, multiple national Edward R. Murrow Awards, and the national Emmy for investigative reporting.

He has twice been named a finalist for Harvard’s Goldsmith Prize.

Greenblatt graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
