Global News is pleased to announce that veteran broadcaster, Heidi Petracek, will join Global National, starting on October 23, as its national correspondent based in Halifax. Heidi replaces long-time reporter, Ross Lord, who retired earlier this year.
Hailing from Saskatchewan, Heidi began her radio and TV career in her home province before reporting assignments took her to Calgary, Toronto, Corner Brook, St. John’s and, ultimately, Halifax.
“What stands out most about Heidi’s decades of reporting is her compassion for the people whose stories she’s sharing,” says Tristan Staddon, Global National Managing Editor. “Whether she’s connecting with Canadians on their best day or their worst, her commitment to reflecting their humanity in her journalism is unwavering. That’s something we truly value at Global National and we couldn’t be more proud to welcome her.”
