Global has hired Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel for LBC, where they will front a new podcast for Global Player, and will host a show on LBC. They will also provide commentary and analysis for lbc.co.uk.
Both join Global from the BBC, where Maitlis hosted BBC Newsnight and Sopel was North America editor. Sopel has previously also served as presenter of the news channel, news presenter and Paris correspondent at the BBC.
Both Maitlis and Sopel also jointly hosted the Americast podcast.
