An award-winning journalist has returned to her old newspaper as a columnist.
Glasgow-based daily The Herald has announced the appointment of Dani Garivelli, who previously worked as a features writer there on a freelance basis.
Dani, pictured, has also written for titles including The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, The Times, The Guardian, The Scottish Review of Books and The Big Issue during her career.
At The Herald, she will once again team up with former Scotland on Sunday editor Catherine Salmond.
Dani, who has won multiple awards for her work, was a columnist for the Edinburgh-based paper until 2020.
Catherine said: “It is a privilege and a pleasure to have Dani Garavelli join my team at The Herald. Her track record speaks for itself and she needs no introduction.
“She is, quite simply, among the finest in our industry; an inspiration to her fellow journalists, a forceful and moving writer, and a much-needed, balanced and powerful voice in Scotland.
“She is a talent like no other and will bring a voice and energy to The Herald I am confident will excite our readers.”
