Deanna Garcia has joined NY1 News as a digital producer focused on political coverage. Recently, she interned at Politico, reporting on City Council hearings and related press conferences.
She previously worked at Documented, which provides coverage of New York’s immigrants and the politics that affect them, as a newsletter writer. She was also a writer/editor at thisisthebronx.info and a news editor at The Meridian in New York.
Garcia has also interned at City Limits in New York.
Garcia has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College.
