Gannett news executive Warren to lead Medill Local News Accelerator

Mackenzie Warren

Mackenzie Warren, senior director for Gannett’s career development and training, has been appointed director of the new Local News Accelerator at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Warren’s LinkedIn post reads:

“My personal mission is to make the world a better place: one day at a time, one person at a time, one act at a time. For 23 years, I’ve carried out that mission through #local #journalism. Starting in year 24, I’ll be returning to Northwestern University Medill School to help forge the new models that will carry our craft forward. There’s never been a more important time to be a journalist.”

He also served as senior director of news strategy, news executive and director of training and managing editor for design and development and director of digital content at Gannett.

Warren graduated from Northwestern University.
