Julie Gallant has joined the Poway News Chieftain, a newspaper in San Diego, Calif., as a reporter. She said:
“After working as a reporter in Ramona the past five years, I’m excited about a new opportunity covering Poway where I’ve lived for 15 years.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the people in town and finding out about all the activities and events going on in my own community.”
Recently, Gallant reported for California-based newspaper the Ramona Sentinel. She worked at the San Diego Business Journal for seven years, where he held the posts of assistant managing editor and reporter.
Previously, she worked as a copy editor at the North County Times, a San Diego paper that ceased publication in 2012 and was merged into the San Diego Union-Tribune.
She also reported for West Coast Community Newspapers.
Gallant has a B.A. in journalism from San Diego State University-California State University.
