G/O Media names Glennon EIC of gamning news outlet Kotaku

G/O Media has named Jen Glennon editor-in-chief of the digital media outlet for gaming news Kotaku. She will begin on Oct 10.

Glennon said:

“I couldn’t be more thrilled and honored to take the helm at Kotaku at such a pivotal time in the world of gaming.

“Kotaku has led the way on incisive, thought-provoking storytelling about games for nearly two decades, and it is an enormous privilege to lead such a talented team of writers and editors. “I look forward to building on the site’s longstanding tradition of stellar reporting and commentary.”

In her new role, she will report to Lea Goldman, G/O Media’s deputy editorial director.

She will join from Inverse, where she served as senior gaming editor. Before that, she held the posts of associate entertainment editor and gaming editor.

She has worked as a deputy editor for entertainment and gaming at Newsweek, and served as managing editor of Player.One, Newsweek’s gaming vertical. Before that, she was an associate editor at IBT Media. She also freelanced.

Glennon has a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a master’s degree and PhD in English from the University of Oxford.
