Earlier this month, Sir Geoffrey Owen, former editor of the Financial Times and current head of the economic think tank, Policy Exchange visited Peter Symonds College for lunch and a Q&A session, according to reports.
Sir Geoffrey spoke on ‘From Thatcher through Blair to Boris Johnson: a journalist’s view of British politics since the 1980s’ at the meet-up. During his talk, he gave an analysis of three key periods of economic change in the UK and an insight into how these periods have impacted on the current economic policies.
After his talk, the students of Symonds College engaged in an interactive Q&A session with him and discussed a variety of topics.
Sir Geoffrey Owen was knighted in 1989, and among his other achievements, he is a Visiting Professor of Practice at the LSE. He is also the author of three books.
