Fahrenthold swaps the Post for NY Times

David Fahrenthold

David Fahrenthold will be joining The New York Times as an investigative reporter in the Washington bureau. He begins Jan. 24.

In his new role, Fahrenthold will report to Times enterprise and investigations editor Dick Stevenson.

Fahrenthold comes from The Washington Post, where he had worked for the past 21 years, starting as an intern. He then served as a correspondent in New England and joined The Post’s political team in 2010.

He is the recipient of a George Polk Award for political reporting, a Robin Toner Prize for political reporting, the Hillman Prize, and numerous other honors.

He is also a member of the advisory board of the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at the University of Maryland and a pioneer in the use of social media as a tool for investigative reporting.
