Evening Standard acting editor Ross departs

Charlotte Ross

Charlotte Ross, acting editor at the Evening Standard has stepped down from her post after 16 years.

Ross also served as executive editor for features, executive editor, deputy editor, deputy editor for print, head of digital content and publisher. Before that, she was deputy editor at National Magazines and was assistant editor at The Independent.

She was also an assistant editor at The Scotsman and Sunday Herald.

Ross said, “The Evening Standard is quite simply an iconic brand with a brilliant team of journalists – past and present – who I love, respect and have enjoyed working with enormously. It has been an immense privilege to work here during such a key part of my professional life. There has never been a dull day. I will miss it hugely.”

A spokesperson for the Standard described Ross as an “editorial powerhouse and visionary leader across print and digital.”

Ross graduated from the University of Glasgow.
