Shwetha Surendran, the inaugural fellow for ESPN’s Investigative Journalism Fellowship with American University, will join the staff full-time as a reporter on Oct. 2.
Previously, Surendran was a reporter at the Investigative Reporting Workshop. She also held the posts of original content intern and reporter/contributor at Los Angeles-based broadcast media production and distribution company Blue Wire.
Surendran has a bachelor’s degree from Stella Maris College in India and a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University. She has another master’s degree in investigative journalism and public affairs from American University.
