El Paso Matters has named veteran El Paso journalist Ramon Bracamontes as editor. He begins Jan. 31.
Previously, Bracamontes held various reporting and editing roles at the El Paso Times between 1984 and 2016, including serving as managing editor. He has also worked at USA Today and the Reno Gazette-Journal.
“As the newest member of the El Paso Matters newsroom I look forward to learning from the reporters on staff while at the same time helping them expand our government watchdog mandate by focusing on in-depth and investigative stories that will make a difference in our community,” Bracamontes said.
Bracamontes is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso.
