DW News East Asia correspondent Yang set to depart

William Hao-Wei Yang, East Asia correspondent at DW News wrote on Twitter:

“After more than 5 years and 3 months at @dwnews, I’ll be leaving the organization at the end of next week. It’s been a fulfilling and exciting chapter in my career, where I got to cover some of the biggest stories in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and East Asia.”

For his new endeavor, Yang will cover stories related to China, Taiwan and Hong Kong for Voice of America’s English department for the next 12 months.

Yang freelanced and worked as a reporter and researcher at BuzzFeed News. He was also a technical and copy writer at Cheetah Mobile in Taiwan and contributed to Mic. He interned at Grid Magazine.

Yang has a B.A. from Tunghai University in Taiwan and a master’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia.
