Recently, Somaskanda has freelanced for a number of prominent publications — including Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, The New Statesman, The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, USA Today, Al Jazeera, Washington Times, and Global Post.
She has also worked various posts in Germany, including as a reporter and anchor at Deutsche Welle, as an editor at Berlin Policy Magazine, and as a reporter and editor at Associated Reporters Abroad. She was also a news producer at Current TV in San Francisco.
Somaskanda has previously reported for Capital News 9, Time Warner Cable in Albany, N.Y.
