CBC News has appointed Steven D’Souza co-host of its award-winning investigative documentary program “The Fifth Estate.”
“Steven’s mix of experience, enthusiasm for his stories, critical thinking and strong belief in the importance of investigative journalism at CBC makes him a perfect fit for The Fifth Estate,” said Diana Swain, executive producer, The Fifth Estate.
D’Souza served as a reporter and foreign correspondent. Recently, he hosted CBC’s consumer investigative program “Marketplace.”
“I’ve always challenged myself to tell stories with accuracy, fairness and nuance,” said D’Souza. “I can think of no better place to continue that challenge and take my work to the next level than at the pinnacle of CBC journalism. The Fifth Estate has set the benchmark for investigative journalism in Canada and I look forward to adding to that legacy.”
He began his career at CBC in 2000 as a reporter and video journalist.
D’Souza has a B.A. in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University.
