Devex in Washington, D.C. has tapped Anna Gawel as managing editor. Devex is a social enterprise media platform for the global development community.
She joins from The Washington Diplomat, the flagship publication of D.C.’s diplomatic community for over 25 years. There, she has worked more than 21 years, recently as managing editor.
She had also worked as a part-time broadcast producer/web editor at WTOP News in Washington, D.C.
During her time at the Diplomat, she was also the host of the Global 360 podcast, a show where she broke down international headlines for the day. She has also spoken on foreign affairs for think tanks and other outlets.
Additionally, she has more than 250 articles published on world affairs, U.S. foreign policy, politics, security, trade, travel and the arts.
Gawel has a B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland.
