Gareth Davies

Gareth Davies has been appointed to edit The Bureau Local, which is part of The Bureau of Investigative Journalism.

Gareth, pictured, has served as a reporter with The Bureau Local since it was launched six years ago.

He previously worked as chief reporter at the Croydon Advertiser, where he won Weekly Reporter of the Year award at the Regional Press Awards for four consecutive years.

Announcing his new appointment, Gareth wrote on Twitter: “Thrilled to have been appointed editor of The Bureau Local, a team I have been a part of since it was set up six years ago.

“We’ve achieved a lot in that time, alongside journalists and communities across the UK. I can’t wait to work with them on even bigger and better things.

“I want The Bureau Local to be the first place people go when they have a story about systemic wrongdoing or injustice in the UK.

“We will work with affected communities, in ambitious and innovative ways, to produce journalism that’s a force for positive change at locally and nationally.”
