Dallas’ ABC station hires Atwell to community impact team

Amanda Atwell

Amanda Atwell has joined ABC station WFAA-TV Ch. 8 in Dallas. She wrote on X/Twitter:

“I’ll be on the Community Impact team, helping facilitate the coverage of the fantastic community we have in DFW. To say I’m thrilled is an understatement.”

Previously, Atwell worked as a sports director at Nexstar Media Group and as co-host of a weekly sports/country music show, focused on local and regional sports at KPUR-FM 95.7 in Amarillo, Texas.

She also worked as a weekday sports anchor and reporter at Sinclair Broadcast Group and contributed to SB Nation.

She interned at NBC station KXAN-TV Ch. 36 in Austin.

Atwell has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and government from the University of Texas at Austin.
