CuriosityStream, a leading global factual streaming service and media company has tapped industry veteran Ashley Huston as vice president of communications.
In her new role, she will oversee external and internal communications for the global factual media company and streaming service.
Huston joins CuriosityStream from Quartz where she was vice president, communications. There, she drove global membership through subscriptions to Quartz premium content, launched a metered paywall as a significant new business model and created and directed effective internal communication strategies, among other tasks.
Before that, she was senior vice president and chief communications officer at Dow Jones. She led a strategy to drive The Wall Street Journal’s digital transformation, brand expansion and global influence and created the company’s position as a digital-first organization focused on innovative products and services.
She also served as senior vice president, deputy head of communications at News Corp. She was also VP, communications at The Wall Street Journal and served as VP at Rubenstein Communications. Huston has also worked as director of media relations at ESPN.
She was also a publicist at CNN.
Huston is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations.
