Alexandra Whittaker has taken on the role of deputy editor at Cosmopolitan, moving from her recent role of pop culture director.
Whittaker has been with Cosmopolitan for more than four years, joining as a senior news editor and then serving as news director. She also held the posts of associate digital news editor and editor for news and partnerships at InStyle.
She freelanced for Who What Wear at Clique Media Group, Reader’s Digest Association and Women’s Wear Daily. She was an entertainment morning news writer at Teen Vogue and interned at InStyle, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Wall Street Journal and ELLE Magazine.
She also contributed to USA Today.
Whittaker has a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and a master’s degree from Northwestern University.
