Conway Area Chamber of Commerce taps White as publication editor and Hogan as communication director

The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce has named Adena White its editor of Conway Publications and Lee Hogan its director of communications.

White had served as director of communications since 2011. Hogan began in the position Feb. 1.

In her new part-time role, White will oversee the production of the Chamber’s publications, including the North Metro Business Journal, a monthly update on the local business community, and Conway+, an annual, comprehensive guide to the Conway area.

The new role also includes a partnership between the Chamber and Blackbelt Media, which will help the Chamber focus more on Conway’s diverse business community.

“A lot of times, the big, social changes happen at home and, right now, there are so many opportunities to tell stories and make a difference in the community,” White said. “In the decade I have spent at the Chamber, I have always seen the potential we have to uplift and empower these communities that play such a vital role in a city like Conway.”

Previously, White has also served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Arkansas and was with Winthrop Rockefeller Institute for more than 3 years, joining as a marketing intern and then holding the post of public relations coordinator.

She was also a marketing/public relations intern at CHI St. Vincent and a resident assistant at Arkansas Tech University.

White is a B.A. in Journalism and Speech Communication from Arkansas Tech University and a M.A. in Applied Communication Studies from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

As director of communications, Hogan will manage communications and public relations for the Chamber and its partner organizations. He will serve as the Chamber’s primary writer and manage its social media presence.

He will also provide marketing and communications support for Chamber events and work with members to tell the story of Conway and its business community.

Previously, Hogan has worked as a communication coordinator at UCA College of Business and was a communication specialist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He was also a reporter at Arkansas Business Publishing Group and Log Cabin Democrat.

He was also an online intern at Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and an intern at 501 Life Magazine. He was also a writer for ArkansasSports360.com and a camera operator for Conway Corporation.

Hogan is a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Central Arkansas.
