Commercial Appeal reporter Burgess departs

Katherine Burgess

Katherine Burgess, a reporter at The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, has left.

In her new role, Burgess will join MLK50: Justice Through Journalism to cover government accountability. Previously, she worked as a health and faith reporter at McClatchy-owned Wichita Eagle.

She interned at and was an education reporter at The Jackson Sun in Tennessee.

Burgess has a B.A. in journalism from Union University in Jackson.
