The following was sent out from The New York Times’ Gita Daneshjoo:
I’m excited to share the news that Spencer Cohen joins Times Opinion today as the editorial assistant for Nick Kristof and Lydia Polgreen.
He most recently worked at The Asahi Shimbun’s New York bureau, where he reported on American politics and breaking news for the Japanese paper.
His freelance writing has appeared in Foreign Policy and Newsweek Japan, among other publications. He is a native New Yorker and received a bachelor’s in history from Columbia University, followed by a master’s from the University of Tokyo.
Please join me in welcoming Spencer!
