Coates appointed executive editor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch

Chris Coates

Chris Coates has joined the Richmond Times-Dispatch as executive editor. Before that, he was Central Illinois editor at Lee Enterprises, where he also served as executive editor of the Herald & Review.

Previously, he has also edited watchdog and investigation coverage for The News Journal and delawareonline.com. He has also edited for the Sioux City Journal and was managing editor, Illinois publications, at suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis.

He has also reported for the San Fernando Valley Business Journal.

Coates has a B.A. in broadcast journalism from Columbia College Chicago.
