John Harwood, a White House correspondent at CNN, has left. Harwood tweets, “I’ve been lucky to serve the best in American media – St. Petersburg Times, WSJ, NYT, the NBC family, CNN … look forward to figuring out what’s next.”
Previously, Harwood was an editor at large at CNBC. He also covered Washington for the network and hosted the CNBC Digital original video series, “Speakeasy with John Harwood.”
He wrote a weekly column, “Political Memo,” for The New York Times. He also worked for The Wall Street Journal.
Harwood graduated from Duke University.
