CNN has hired Eric Zerkel as an extreme weather editor on the climate team. Recently, he served as head of subscription content at The Weather Company.
Before that, Zerkel was at The Weather Channel for more than seven years, where he held various posts that included assistant editor, associate editor for climate change, editor, senior editor for audience and managing editor.
He interned at the New York Daily News.
Zerkel has a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree from New York University.
