CNN has promoted Priscilla Alvarez to the post of White House reporter.
Alvarez joined CNN in 2019 as a reporter covering immigration politics and policy.
She was nominated for an Emmy for the CNN team’s coverage of Haitian migrants converging at the border.
Previously, she was an assistant editor at The Atlantic and covered congressional hearings, White House briefings, and breaking news for the National Journal’s digital news team as a fellow.
She was a collegiate correspondent at USA Today, where she wrote, reported, and produced weekly stories on higher education.
She interned at the Washingtonian Magazine. Alvarez has a B.A. from Virginia Tech.
