CNN has tapped Camila DeChalus to serve as a White House reporter. Recently, she was a political reporter at The Washington Post and worked at CNN from August 2016 to June 2017 as a news associate.
Prior to joining the Post in October 2022, DeChalus covered national politics, campaigns and Congress for Business Insider as a senior D.C. politics reporter. She also worked as a homeland security and immigration reporter at CQ Roll Call.
She was a journalism fellow at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and, interned at Voice of American and Univision.
She is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and a board member of the National Association of Black Journalists political task force.
DeChalus graduated from American University with a degree in broadcast journalism.
